You know the feeling you get when you watch a movie and the good guys are finally getting their revenge? The feeling of victory, revenge, good overcomes evil. Its that teeth-gnashing feeling you get when:

1. Rambo finally gets his hands on that HUGE mother-of-a Machine Gun and pumps it away at the Soviet son-of-a-gun in the attack helicopter
2. When Johnny-Five (the movie Short Circuit) repairs himself and with a leaky battery & only 1 eye, gets even with the baddies!
3. Tamil movie fans can relate to this : When Rajnikanth pops the piece of chewing gum into his mouth and whoops everybody’s ass in Chandramukhi

So what moves you?

What motivates you during your workout to pump out those last few reps?

What makes you close your eyes, bite hard, and go that extra mile?

Music can do amazing things to your emotional state. It could break you, provoke you, stir up feelings, and the most amazing of all - motivate you to overcome your mental limitations.

I’ve narrowed my personal favourites down to the following.. they work wonders in the gym if you have an mp3 player with you ;)

1. Survivor - Eye of the Tiger
2. Kenny Loggins - Danger Zone (Top Gun soundtrack)
3. Bonnie Tyler - Holding out for a Hero (Short Circuit 2 soundtrack)
4. Aaliyah - Try Again (Romeo Must Die soundtrack)
5. Linkin Park - One Step Closer
6. Linkin Park - Breaking the Habit
7. Paul Oakenfold - Ready Steady Go
8. The Matrix Theme Song
(The Matrix soundtrack)

Anyone cares to add to the list? :)

songs that lift me up and get me going all the time:

1) The Touch (From the Transformers Movie Soundtrack!)
2) Minas Tirith (From the LOTR:ROTK soundtrack. Uplifting stuff, dude…)
3) You’ll Never Walk Alone (a bit slow, but I get emotional and inspired over this all the time. Liverpool!)
4) Sweetness (Jimmy Eat World. Makes you wanna scream the chorus out loud!)
5) don’t Look Back in Anger (Oasis)
