The Ultimate pre-workout drink

by Noel Chelliah on Friday, Jul 1, 2005

Anyone wanna give this a go and let me know what happens? Heh heh.
Consume this mixture about 1-2 hours before a gruelling workout!

Ingredient 1: 1.5 cups Skim Milk
*Milk is probably one of the most overlooked supplements there is and is loaded with both fast-digesting (whey) and slow-digesting (casein) proteins for a steady supply of amino acids

Ingredient 2: ½ Frozen “Slightly Green” Banana
*Ripe bananas have more sugar content than the unripe ones and will result in a quick “sugar rush” instead of supplying long term energy to power your workout.

Ingredient 3: 2 Tbsp Natural Peanut Butter
*U need to use ‘Natural’ peanut butter and NOT the commercial hydrogenated ones. PB is loaded with mono-unsaturated fat supposedly able to raise your body’s testosterone levels. Look for one that ONLY lists “Peanuts” and “Salt” on the ingredients.

Ingredient 4: ½ Cup Raw Oat Bran or Uncooked Oatmeal
*Raw oat bran, like oatmeal, is a complex carbohydrate that is ideal for supplying tons of sustained energy

Ingredient 5: ½ Scoop Vanilla Whey Protein
*In addition to the casein from the milk, whey protein will provide you with additional, ready-to-deliver amino acids that will provide your muscles with a “jump start” on the recovery process.

Directions: Blend, drink, enjoy your workout – and OGLE in between sets! ;)

The oatmeal kinda grosses me out. I’ve tried blending oatmeal with milk before.. and trust me…. it doesnt turn out right. Its like drinking milk with sawdust!

Perhaps I should mention that this drink isnt for those who go to the gym just for a cardio workout or for leisure.. its more for the ‘muscleheads’ out there.
