GNC Total LeanGNC Total Lean is supposed to help increase your metabolism rate and boost energy.

Thermogenic supplements work by using stimulants which are effective in raising your body temperature and the number of calories burned - therefore increasing the results of your exercise and diet.

If you’re like most bodybuilders/fitness enthusiast, you’ve probably turned to a thermogenic supplement at one point to help you burn more calories, or to get lean. For those of you hoping for a wonder pill that will help you lose weight effortlessly - Let me tell you that this is not for you!

You can purchase GNC Total Lean at any GNC store here in Malaysia for less than RM150 (uncertain of exact price). Each pack contains 30 servings and will last you for 1 month. Be careful NEVER to abuse a thermogenic supplement. More is NOT better.

GNC Total Lean - The Lowdown:

Accelerated weight loss?
Yes! I see a greater improvement in body composition in a short period when compared to dieting alone.
Increase post workout calorie burning by up to 60% (as claimed by their marketing materials)?
Dunno la.. how do I measure that?
Would you see results in 30 days?
Yes, you will. You’ll see results in 2 weeks actually.
Would I recommend Total Lean?
Yes, but only if you have the discipline to adhere to a reasonably strict diet and stick to your workouts.
Do you need Total Lean to lose weight?
No - it’s only a diet aid and increases the effectiveness of your workout. Diet & exercise alone still yields great results on its own.
What exercises/diet should I follow?
It comes with a 14-day meal & exercise plan if you’re clueless
How does Total Lean compare to Xenadrine/Hydroxycut?
Xenadrine & Hydroxycut go a few steps further as to control appetite as well, and I’ve had incredible results with them.. definitely far superior to Total Lean.

Other observations
- You sweat much easier. Not only when you’re exercising!
- Greater focus/concentration and intensity during your workouts
- Increased heart rate during workouts
- Decreased appetite (is this supposed to happen?)
- The tablets have a weird ginger aroma/spicy taste to it, so shove it in your mouth and swallow it as quick as you can! Ha ha.
- It didn’t work AT ALL for my friend who skipped her workouts and sometimes forgot to take her tablets.
- Can be used as an occasional energy booster for your workouts.

Quick tip: Want to know what it feels like to exercise with a thermogenic?
Consume 3 teaspoons of instant coffee (mixed with water) 30 minutes before your workout, and you’ll know what I mean (Not for the faint of heart).

Your friend and coach,
DM

I’m currently run/walk/jog for a full two hours at least twice a week. Does taking Total Lean helps, or it won’t make any significant changes to the amount of calories burn? (as the amount of workout might not be intensive enough?).
