I was getting dressed after a refreshing shower at my gym this morning when I noticed that some people take GREAT EFFORT not to expose themselves when they take their clothes off. The Fitness First branch that I went to this morning does not have a changing room where you can lock yourself in – they just have a corner with a curtain across.
This forces the members to resort to tricks like tying a towel around their waist before they remove their pants, draping their t-shirt over their neck so that it covers their upper-front body, etc.
Of course, I’m not asking that you walk around exposing your crown jewels, but it’s just that some people really do take an incredible effort to cover themselves up.
Amusing as it is, I’m sure we all have our personal reasons as to why we resort to such tricks. As for me (yes I do it too, to a certain extent) – it’s because I’m not 100% proud of my physique. (At least not yet). Don’t misunderstand me here.. there’s nothing wrong with it – it’s just that it’s not as perfect as I want it to be, so I’ve decided to hide it from the world for now.
Now, what about you? ;)

I play a lot of badminton. After a badminton session, I usually change my cloth beside the badminton court itself, have no problem with that.

I am uncomfortable being seen even in my underwear by females. Dunno la … call it modesty … call it upbringing … call it I F*CKING THINK I’M FAT AND I DON’T WANT THOSE SKINNY SKANKS COMPARING THEMSELVES TO ME AND FEELING SMUG!
… oh. more coffee anyone? :D
scorkes: wakakaka!!!
jacky: you don’t normally take your shorts and underwear off at the badminton court.. right? Heh heh.
mihun: careful.. some of those ah so’s i heard got tattooed butt also lar. And that’s a good trick to play on those sales people who call from the gym. I might just use that one day. Thanks for dropping by MORE THAN ONCE in a day. :P
scorkes: That’s perfectly normal. But hey.. I heard that some women do walk around in the nude in the changing rooms in fitness first.. mmm..
mihun: eh.. you again! :P
I take off my clothes near to the entrance of my college’s swimming pool and by just wear a triangle swimming trunk (from what I see, only few people dare to wear that and most will wear the shorts type). After we finish swimming, we will come by near the counter and dry ourselves off with towel and wear back clothes there. Its just near the entrance and everyone passing by can see clearly. hoho Its all because we keep our clothes at our special location near the counter. Get used to it and all the swimmers in my college too did that.
But most embarassing moments is to just wear a swimming trunk and walk back to the hostel. I saw some doing that.
In some changing room which I have experience before in other places, some are just don’t care much and take off everything there and change their clothes without covering their ‘stuffs’ first.
surfnux: you’re one of those guys that just don’t give a damn if someone sees you lar. Which is good. I wish I had your attitude. :)
hoho But then, will get shy also lor if someone remind me about it. :p But who cares right. We don’t know them, so let those judge for themselves and we just be comfortable. :p hoho
i swim, and i wear one of those ‘triangular’ swimming trunks as well… but i heck care. it’s the swimming pool and i would think that it’s appropriate.
at the gym, i wear some of my oldest clothes. i heck care what ppl think about me. i’m at the gym to work out and sweat and i wouldn’t wanna be in my best clothes. i’ve seen some people all dressed up at gym with the latest nike/adidas/reebok/etc workout wear… i just don’t give a damn….
andre: I always wear what I’m confortable with too. And yes, I too dont give a damn. I’m just there to workout – and get out.
normally change in the front of locker. too many female hogging the changing room and also toilets. my motto – if ppl wanna look when u r changing, make sure u wear the skimpest and sluty looking g-string… He He . At least i shocked them.
doglover: :O interesting..
DM: dude, youre getting all sorts of spam la wei…
Hmmm..nvr came across this posting… lets see what im ashamed of…. youre asking the boys at ego what theyre ashamed of? wrong question la…. :D
Jay: I can’t seem to get rid of this spam lar… damn annoying.
I know you guys are not ashamed of anything lar. This post wasnt for you animals.
Well back in university, our ice hockey team changing room is always filled with the team members walking around naked and making jokes left, right and center whilst exposing their crown jewels to everyone on the team haha. Well what the heck did we care about, we’re all dudes…..all straight, nothing to be afraid of haha.
Well nothing much for me to be embarassed of but i when i work out i never wear sleeveless…..i dont think my arms in whole is ready to be parade around with yet. This comes to the point where i absolutely dont dig why those ppl who has flabby arms or stick like arms wearing sleeveless. Well, they could be less demanding of their physique than me i guess.
Jon: I walk around with my towel and I’m already getting kinky smiles from weird looking people at the changing room. Makes me feel weirdly uncomfortable. Good thing there are very few people early in the morning when I have my shower. Totally agree with you on the sleeveless matter: I always wear short sleeved t-shirts, mainly cos I too don’t think they’re ‘worthy’ enough to be exposed. Not yet. But to those people with pencil arms.. .especially newbies.. they not only wear sleeveless, but CUT the sleeves off their tshirts. Brutal man.
