Open Day at Fitness First, MJHFitness First at Menara John Hancock is having an ‘Open Day’ today, mainly to introduce their new Cosmic Cycling Studio - the rock concert on wheels! Open day today means that Fitness First members get to bring their friends for a free try-out for RPM today.

There will be lucky draws held during the RPM classes and light snacks served from 6pm onwards. The schedule today is:

7:15 AM - Grace Sim
1:00 PM - Travy Minnoch
6:45 PM - Cameron
8:00PM - Cameron (Again??)

It would be interesting to see the extra crowd in the gym today. Plus they’re gonna be serving food. As if it doesn’t get crowded enough in the evenings. Also, I hope the aroma of the food doesn’t fill the whole gym! With the Cycling studio now fully operational, FF will be able to hold 14 RPM classes a week, which is great news to me. I’m thinking of squeezing in at least 2RPM classes a week into my schedule as it would definitely assist in my efforts to get lean.

What is RPM?
RPM is group fun, to great music - without the competition. Professional coaching for 45 minutes helps you match terrain with tempo and all the energy of a small rock concert. RPM is an awesome workout for improving your aerobic capacity and anaerobic strength. The music driven terrain pushes your body to burn calories and tighten your frame. Under guidance of your Instructor and motivation of your team you will experience slow climbs, short sprints and recovery spins that present no barrier to coordination or boredom. Each workout is performed on stationary cycles that enhance the indoor experience.

Done RPM b4? Maybe do it and give a review of the bike?

Btw, I teach pump & combat on Fridays…how about dropping by to say hello?

Shades : the first time i tried RPM, i didnt get my seating posture right - i suffered from a SEVERE, PIERCING backache that very night when I went to bed and had trouble waking up the next morning. Proof that posture is indeed very, very, VERY important. But that was my first attempt, bout 2 years ago. Since then, i’ve had my ’seasons’ of RPM on and off, based on my fitness goals at that particular time.

I’m not really into pump (have tried it a few times thought, and it IS really good) but I always avoid it as it clashes with my routine - i need to rest & recover my bodyparts and I find that bodypump interferes with it. It’s excellent, however - for those who don’t have a strict routine at the weights area. I think that is why you dont see the serious guys taking part in bodypump as it interferes with our rest cycle.

I’m gonna take a raincheck on saying hello for now as I would like to remain anonymous. At least for now. I hope you understand. Cheers.
:)
