NOTICE: 21 Apr 06 - To honour a request from a friendly corporate organisation, this writeup has been rewritten to be fair to all parties mentioned in this article.

Yours truly,
dailymuscle

The time has finally come to reveal what I believe to be one of the best kept secrets from the majority of fitness enthusiasts here in Malaysia. Never again will you have to pay ridiculous overpriced items at a GNC near you. I’ve been talking about this for a couple of weeks now already if you guys have been following my posts.

I’ve come to discover a better place to purchase my supplements. Be it protein powder, protein bars, mass gainers, creatine, vitamins, fat burners, vasodilators, testosterone boosters - these guys have it all - and at down-to earth prices.

Some of their low prices are obvious on Optimum Nutrition’s 100% Whey Protein 5lb at RM180 (that’s 35% less than what you pay at GNC!), low-carb Protein Bars (Optimum Nutrition) at RM8 each (getting something similar at GNC would cost you at least RM15), and the list goes on.

EGOnutritions.comWho am I talking about? Say hello… to EGOnutritions.

Situated at the Riana Green Plaza at the Tropicana in Petaling Jaya, Selangor, I had the pleasure of meeting up with the owners of EGOnutritions a couple of weeks ago, and I find it very reassuring to know that the owners themselves are fitness enthusiasts and not out there to rip you off your hard earned money. They know what they’re selling. How cool is that?

They’re a helpful bunch and always ready to help you make an informed decision before you make a purchase. Did I also mention that they deliver the items right to your doorstep? HELL, YEAH. Delivery is free of charge if you’re within their coverage area - otherwise, it’s just a minimum cost (which is still cheaper than you getting there on your own).

EGOnutritions carries items from Optimum NUtrition, Muscletech, Twinlab, Universal, EAS, Biotest, Next Nutritions, Nutrex, and many others. They are also currently the only official distributor for the BSN range of products here in Malaysia. Now if that doesn’t satisfy your appetite for the best - then nothing will.

And why haven’t you heard of them before? Beats me. That’s the first question I asked them myself when I finally got to meet the guys at EGOnutritions.

If you’re wondering why I seem to compare them to GNC so much - well it’s because I was one of those who were really glad when GNC first came to our shores as it finally meant that we were gonna get some decent sports nutrition items here in Malaysia at reasonable prices. See my previous post on GNC here. But now, after spending more than RM2,000 at GNC and also at other sports nutrition stores over the past 1 year and realising that not only do these stores overprice their items and frequently run out of stock - I’m also declaring all the everyday sports nutritions stores you see out there in Malaysia to be the worst place to get your bodybuilding supplements, mainly due to their overpriced items. For REAL. Don’t believe me? See what I just did to a Loyalty/Membership Card from one of the stores I used to frequent (card expires next year):

VIP card

Convinced now? You better be, cos I’m serious.

Dailymuscle.com and EGOnutritions have big plans in the near future for fitness enthusiasts here in Malaysia and among many other things, we’re excited to see how we can contribute and create awareness for everyone out there.

For now, satisfy your curiosity and check out EGOnutritions at www.egonutritions.com.

‘Optimum Nutrition’s 100% Whey Protein 5lb at RM180 (that’s 35% less than what you pay at GNC!), low-carb Protein Bars (Optimum Nutrition) at RM8 each (getting something similar at GNC would cost you at least RM15)..’, what rip-off!

Despite the 35% cheaper tag than what GNC offers, can I get more percents off if I mention dailymuscle.com? :D I’m on my last few scoops for my shake anyways. Do they have loyalty card as well? They sound too good to be true and I pass Riana Green almost everyday!

2 Andrew 02.25.06 at 3:02 am

Riana Green Plaza In Tropicana? Heck that was my first time hearing that place… hmm… no money to buy protein supps now, but maybe in a few months or so…

3 steveneleven 02.25.06 at 2:11 pm

Hi I’ve been reading your blog for some time, good work! I have join gym since like 6 moths ago, been worin out on my own at home b4 that. I AM really curious abt protein shakes. I hesitate to try coz its seem expensive AND it might give me tahht “bloated” look, am I beig naive for thinikng this? Coz u see I am looking at lean mass and not into that big body building look u knwo what I mean? thks!

4 dailymuscle 02.26.06 at 5:01 pm

Yoga Instructor: A further discount if you mention dailymuscle.com? Well.. I dont think so. At least not yet. ;)
And they don’t have a loyalty card. Most of their sales are actually bulk sales direct to neighbourhood gyms throughout malaysia, and not your ordinary retail store. That is why they have no problems being hidden in Riana Greens.
Do give them a call before you drop by though as they may be out on a delivery.

Andrew: Wait till you see the stuff they have on sale there. You might wanna empty out your savings account.

steveneleven: Thanks for dropping by. There’s no reason to be confused or afraid of protein supplements. They are exactly what the name suggests - a supplement. They are not to replace your existing diet which should be rich in quality carbs and protein if you’re looking to build some quality muscle. Though expensive, they are convenient and make it easy for us to consume it immediately after your workout (this is the time your body needs the most protein - and FAST). It’s not going to give you a ‘bloated’ look.. that happens when you overeat? Everyone can benefit from a protein shake - and at RM180 a tub for 77 servings - it’s only RM2.33 per serving for 24g of quality protein. Consider the ease of use, time you save, and the great taste.. I think its value for money. As a start, if you consume one serving after every workout… I’m sure it will easily last you for 3 months. Give that a shot at least. Good luck.

5 chikanoz 02.27.06 at 10:31 am

demm, i wasted my one month old membership at GNC then. arrggh… thanks dude for the info. i shal buy it from EGOnutritions next.

6 steveneleven 02.27.06 at 12:58 pm

hi thks for the advcice.. I shall try it then! Oh well perhaps I read somewhere that its the way to bodybuilding.. fiorst u bulk up then u do cardio liek crazy to take away the fat to reveal the muscle after… kinda extreme for me. Well happy gyming! buy from EGO!.. ego!

7 Ganee 02.27.06 at 4:46 pm

Cool, will check it out.

8 dailymuscle 02.28.06 at 11:10 am

I believe The Yoga Instructor has been convinced already and is going over to make a purchase tomorrow.

Happy Shopping - and bring lots of cash!

9 Jay 03.14.06 at 6:36 pm

Dailymuscle- Hey dude, dun pump till you explode. I still could use ya kind words now and then.

10 dailymuscle 03.14.06 at 6:49 pm

Jay @ EGOnutritions: Dude, we want more discounts!! Slash the prices some more la. LOL.

Will drop by your store one of these days to get my protein. Bring out the interesting stuff and put them on display would ya?

And thanks for dropping by. Cheers!

11 Jay 03.29.06 at 12:20 am

Damn…im still waiting for the YogaInstructor to drop by…sigh
Yeah, for the record my last guruji was on Nitrotech aight? So dun go round dissin what ya dun know.
Anyways i bet shes much fitter than most of ya blokes out there…and hell lot hotter too

12 Jon 04.18.06 at 11:58 am

Good stuff that i’ve found out this page here. I’ve just arrived back home from being abroad for the past 4-5 years and i’m shocked to see the damn prices of supplements here, actually…..its an extortion really. I buy my proteins from retail shops back in england and LA at about 30% of the price they’re charging at GNC and screw the loyalty card thing, GNC abroad dont need any loyalty card to get discounts haha.
Well thx to u guys, i’ve got my place to get some protein now and i’m actually lookin for a gym now that i’m back.

13 Jay 04.18.06 at 8:18 pm

Jon: Need any reccomendations?
Dailymuscle: Yo dude… havnt seen you around lately. What diobo’lick’le master plan you scheeemin’?

14 dailymuscle 04.19.06 at 6:43 pm

Jon: Thanks.. and yes.. the prices we pay for supps here are crazy indeed. It almost makes bodybuilding/serious fitness a luxury sport.

Jay: Not licking anything la. He he. Been pretty tied up with work lately.. which also explains the slowdown on dailymuscle.com updates. What’s new in the store? Anything interesting?

15 Jon 04.20.06 at 12:56 am

Jay : I’ve found myself a gym to join, its kinda nearby my place and has branches around, well u probably guessed right, fitness first. Tho the free weights section aint nothin much to gawk at, i’ll make do for now till I know where my work will base me at.

DM : thx to ur site, i’ve found egonutritions which have much reasonable prices for the supplements. I’m actually gonna be dropping by there very soon to check it out.

16 dailymuscle 04.20.06 at 8:55 am

Jon: Im just spreading the luuurve. By the way.. if you’re gonna drop by EGOnutritions, then you’ll be able to meet Jay. Oh by the way… which branch of Fitness First will you be at?

Jay: Over to you!

17 Jon 04.20.06 at 12:38 pm

DM : Currently in the USJ Summit Branch. I’m gonna upgrade my membership to the passport one in less than a months time. I should know where i’m gonna be based at by then.

18 Jay 04.20.06 at 2:25 pm

dailymuscle: With referal to ‘the news’, it literally got the entire EGO crew laughin our heads off. You’ll be among the first to get any updates dude.

jon: yeah dude, Xplode rocks! I dunno bout the sceptics out there but if you want my opinion…it just kicks ass. What else is good as a pre-workout supp? Theres tonnes out there , that is if you could get hold of it, but even then, you just cant feel the shit immediately. Id rather eat a banana (or 2), aren’t i right eiji22….hehehe

19 Jon 04.21.06 at 2:32 pm

Jay : Dang lol, i drove to Riana yesterday evening and your not around haha, that was about 5pm ++. I forgot to write ur number down and call to make sure u were around. Will remember to do that first the next time i drive down.

20 Jon 04.22.06 at 3:19 pm

Alrite , just visited EgoNutritions today and met Jay and the crew there. Very cool place, recommend it for everyone , they’ve got the best stuffs and best deals in town, two thumbs up. Everyone there was friendly , in fact i stayed around to chat for about an hour haha. Will certainly be droppin by next month for the stack i wanna try.

Jay : Fun chatting with ya and the dudes there. The ON Protein Diet bar that you recommended wasnt that bad,its in fact nice haha, 21g of protein in a bar and its Chocolate truffle flavored…..i munched it on the drive back home haha.

21 dailymuscle 04.23.06 at 11:00 pm

Jon: You stayed for an hour? Geez.. even I’ve never stayed that long before. Did you tip them extra for their hospitality or not? He he. Whaddya mean that protein bar wasnt that bad? It tastes like chocolate flavoured candle!!

22 Jon 04.24.06 at 12:04 am

DM : HAHA, so u’ve tried that chocolate bar haha…..it aint that bad really, since I cant really take sweet things, so its kinda good enough for me,

23 meathead 04.27.06 at 12:06 pm

hey.. what happened to your post? why so many edits? You got threaten by GNC?

24 dailymuscle 04.27.06 at 12:15 pm

meathead: Not really. We both came to a conclusion that this article wasnt a very polite one, and I agree. Anyway, in essence - everything I’ve wanted to say on this post is still here. ;)

25 meathead 05.08.06 at 7:37 pm

well, if your’re talking bout pricing, i am sure it’s going to be much cheaper not owning any physical stores and managing employees. It’s like errr… dell vs HP? not sure if the analogy is correct :p

26 dailymuscle 05.09.06 at 12:52 pm

meathead: I guess so. Ultimately, its all about being competitive and giving the best value to the consumer. So.. who would you choose? ;)

Latest updates…!

Other than the news that half the ego crew almost got killed in a car accident… and i meant almost… Whoah…

You guys should check out BSN’s Syntha6.
I give it like 10 thumbs plus a couple of toes up. This coming from me, I diss all protein… i aint kidding… ALL protein… they all taste like crap (w/plain H2O) but Sntha6…holy Fu@#! Tastes like melted ice cream (even w/plain H2O). God strike me down if im kidding.
Were so confident that were giving you guys a taste if you drop by the shop anytime soon!
What is Syntha6? The simplest explaination would be a hybrid of Nitrotech and ProComplex except it tastes so much better than those two combined.

Aite y’all
cheerz!

33 dailymuscle 06.06.06 at 10:39 am

Jay: It better be as good as you say.. you’ve set the expectations real high now. So how much is a tub of Syntha6 going for? Give some details la. :P

BTW.. does this mean I can collect MY Syntha6 today? Will be dropping by later today anyway to pickup some supps. Why don’t you be a pal and whip up a few Syntha6 cocktails… cheers!

34 Devan 06.18.06 at 1:03 am

I agree with you that EGO nutritions do sell supplements at a reasonable price. Previously i used to buy supplements directly through a guy who was a dealing with a supplier. RM180 for a 5lbs protein tub is definitly a good buy

As a matter of fact, I recently bought Animal Pak at EGO for RM140. They’re selling other animal products at RM200. But through my guy, I get all animal products at RM170, including the Animal Pak, hence the reason why I bought it through EGO.

Im wondering if the guys at EGO nutritions know about this price difference and could perhaps sell me Animal Cuts at RM180 too, if not slightly cheaper :D. I am aware that Animal Pak is indeed cheaper than the other range of Animal products as it is just a multi/daily vitamin

Hope to get some feedback on this!

p/s: id be ur next favourite customer if the feedback is sweet :)

35 Devan 06.18.06 at 1:04 am

I get all animal products at RM170, including the Animal Pak, hence the reason why I bought it through EGO.

oops sorry, it’s RM180 actually

cheers,
Devan

36 dailymuscle 06.18.06 at 11:07 pm

Hey Devan.. you tha man. EGO rocks! Their prices speaks for itself. And to me.. at the end of they day, it all boils down to the price. I dont care who sells em.. i just want the best deal.

EGO crew.. any comments on the Animal Range? Aren’t they on offer this month?

37 Devan 06.19.06 at 9:02 am

DM: hehe yeah i do agree with u on that. What matters at the end of day somehow is about the amount money we need to fork out.
Can’t help it though, supplements are generally ridiculously priced in Malaysia

By the way, I read somewhere on ur site that EGO is sponsoring Mr. KL coming 9th of July? Will there be any promos at that time eg price slash, discounts or anything like that? Could save my money till then :D.

Oh and i also hope Jay can gimme a reply regarding my previous query.

Take care guys and keep pumpin’ ;)

38 Jay 06.19.06 at 2:23 pm

devan: all Animal products at 180? Hmm… thats odd.
If you’re wondering yeah Animal Nitro IS that expensive, RM230, and the reccomemded dosage for amino acids is an icky issue but due to its ‘pak’ed nature, that will be the optimal unlike other amino acids where it RANGES from 6-15 pills a day.
Normally, the thermogenics are the ones thats gonna the pricier ones but all of us do try to bring down the prices… but of course there has to be a market balance la.
Com’ on im letting the PAK fly at only RM125 this period; and the CUTS going at RM172 just flew even before we had time to stock up. I cant say that it’ll be that cheap through out the year coz mostly it depends on the availability of the stock and ladadi ladada…
What i recommend to most of the boys is to stock up when we’re having our mthly promos. If you’re a BSN man, if you’re a Muscletech man, a Universal man or whatever… make sure you stock up to make the most of the deals coz the price might(most likely actually) would revert to normal.
Yeah we’ll have our lil pasar malam at Wisma OCM on the 9th. hahahaha… bout the price slashes? we’ll see about that k? hehehe…

39 Devan 06.20.06 at 7:56 am

Hi Jay,

The range of animal products that i get at 180 were primariy the Animal Pak, Cuts, M-Stak and Stak 2. I got ripped off cos that guy i got it from sold the Paks for 180 too!
When i was working in fitness first, most of the trainers used to buy stuff from him either for us or for our clients through him as he was offering us the cheapest price we could find….from steroids to natural supplements.

I bought the Pak from u guys during the Mr. SCP competition somewhere around May i was pretty surprised to find it going at 140. And now u tell me it even goes for 125?? ill be damned man! :)) But whatever it is, i could say ur prices are one of the best around. Hope u guys keep it that way too ;)

Anyways im looking forward to the Mr. KL comp on the 9th and ill sure as hell save up some cash for that!

See u guys this weekend at the Mr. Selangor championships, IF ur gonna be there yea.

thanks for the detailed response too Jay

40 tim @ egonutritions.com 06.24.06 at 1:33 am

hell yeah we’re gonna be @ Mr. Selangor. Look out for our exhibition booth!

41 James 10.10.06 at 12:23 am

Hi Daily Muscle, Tim and Jay.

I am James from Sri Aman, Sarawak ( a small town in Sarawak). I would like to say tq to EgoNutritions. Tim and Jay are both extreme friendly person. They always answered my e-mail and messages for enquiring so many things. They are so nice and the service is EXCELLENT. My kampung gym members always purchasing expensive supplements from other town and now i told them you can get it from EGO and the stuff will be delivered to your house ( previously we need to drive 3 hours to go the nearest and ONLY supplement shop ).

In addition to that this website is great and i love your statement ” leave your ego outside the entrance”.

By a Man from kampung gym and always laugh by other people ( ” uiks, Sri Aman also got GYM MEHHHHH ?” and the most frequent STUPID question people always ask me ” How much can u bench?”) ^_^

My SALUTE to EGO and Daily Muscle.

42 James 10.10.06 at 12:25 am

p/s the 3 hours journey is not easy, bad roads + hills and so many XXL lorry carrying log.

43 Jay 10.10.06 at 1:07 pm

Yeah bro, on the behalf of the crews from EGO and DM… Cheers!

44 dailymuscle 10.10.06 at 1:27 pm

James: Hey bro.. Kampung gym or city gym - we all belong to the same brotherhood.

45 James 10.10.06 at 1:55 pm

p/s unless they look like incredible hulk ^_^

46 Devan 10.11.06 at 8:53 am

James: Hey bro.. Kampung gym or city gym - we all belong to the same brotherhood.

I echo that statement….

47 James 10.11.06 at 9:05 am

thx Devan ^_^, i humbly received your respect

48 dailymuscle 10.11.06 at 5:51 pm

James: Hey come on bro.. girls should always be welcome, in any gym!

Devan: Thats the spirit.

49 CluelessMama 01.14.07 at 9:59 pm

Hey DM, regarding this post about protein and stuff, is it just for bodybuilders to take only? U see as I am doing cardio 3 times a week and PT’s 2 times. My weight is at 42KG now, what I would like to know is weather a regular person like me can take protein drinks. U c after I hit the gym in the mornin I am always rushing here and there to pick up kids from school and sending them all over town for extra classes and sorts, so I do not have time to eat lunch hahaha. Anyway I am too afraid to sit down in a restaurant cause i am sure to start eatin and all my cardion waorkout would be furtile, u get what i mean? here u burn the calories and and then u go put it back by eatin. So would drinkin the protien juice be ok for me? Oh and I dont want to look like u guys lah, bodybuilders type hahaha.Just want to be skinny but well toned…hmmmm..like the Alias gal, Jennifer garner.Oh sorry to be postin in the guys column hahaha

50 Judas 01.15.07 at 7:13 am

42KGs?? Gosh that’s light! I think Whey Protein will be most suitable for you. It can also server as a good meal replacement.

What do u say DM?

51 dailymuscle 01.16.07 at 10:26 am

CluelessMama: Nope, protein powders are not just for guys and bodybuilders - we all need protein in our bodies. The question you need to ask yourself is are you getting enough? If you are, then there is no need to supplement with additional protein.

Bodybuilders tend to rely on protein supplements because of their ‘higher than usual’ protein requirements, and therefore supplements are an easy and convenient way to get the sufficient protein they need.

By the way, I know many, many women who supplement their diets with protein shakes. :)

52 CluelessMama 01.17.07 at 8:13 pm

Hey DM, hahaha thanks for the quick reply, well to tell u frankly I am not sure if I am getting enough proteins, lol…I do know is the food chart that I have to do out daily and than pass it to my PT weekly, where everything I eat daily is recorded and he says I am not eatin enoughlah. He keeps tellin me to ‘eat more, eat more’. He says that if I dont have some weight and fats in me I will end up burnin my muscles and all the weight trainin will be useless. If and that’s a big IF I do take the protein shakes will it make me fat and look like SHE man?

53 dailymuscle 01.18.07 at 10:44 am

CluelessMama: Well yeah.. I dont know exactly what you’re eating.. but if your PT says your undereating.. then eat more! But eat right. And yes.. you need to fuel your body adequately in order for it to burn fat effectively. This is why starving yourself is never really productive..

54 freakdiver 04.20.07 at 1:28 pm

57 dailymuscle 05.11.07 at 6:39 pm

IronMass: :) Good choice… drop me a mail and let me know what you’d like to get - perhaps I could get you a discount.

58 shanggo 05.20.07 at 8:33 pm

hi guys! everything looks cool here. and for beginners, stick to basic compound movements ok. FORGET isolation training at this stage. stick to a regimen of total-body workouts, three times a week, emphasizing core and olympic movements such as the bench press, squats, deadlifts, clean-and-press and power clean. this will definitely put u on the road to fast size and strength gains. and if u want to avoid that “bloated” feel, try protein soya; they’ll give u quality muscle without giving u that musclebound look. PUMP UP!

59 The Menace 05.21.07 at 2:29 am

Ohh.. Soy Protein.
I study pre-med at college.
Recent research shows that Soy protein actually increases progestrone hormones.. yes, even in males. In males, they are stored in bodyfat. So that means, the bigger your belly, the bigger boobs you’ll get.

I have first hand experience. After i took soy protein for a month, yeah, i gained muscle, but also got myself a little jelly and perky nipples, thanks to progesterone. XD
had to do extra cardio to burn em off.

Stick to whey, egg or fish protein.
No disrespect, or offend, I’m just sharing what I know :-)

60 The Menace 05.21.07 at 2:37 am

Oh wait, sorry. I got confused. Is it Estrogen or Progesterone? I think I’m positive that Soy protein increases Estrogen.

So yeah, girls can supplement on Soy protein all they want.

And for guys.
Trust me.
You’d prefer to look muscle bound rather then having your nipples poking out your clothes. :-D

61 Jason Lee 07.14.07 at 12:32 pm

I went to egonutrition for the first time this morning.
Wonderful I’ll say with all the products available.

Now I only go to GNC for my Glucosamine Sulphate, and no other stuffs from GNC anymore. Damn! Shouldn’t have signed up with them at the first place. lol!

62 kiki 08.01.07 at 1:07 am

Me too. I went to the egonutritions for the first time to get fat burner and whey protein. Now damn awake, cannot sleep even i took the fat burner before 6 pm :(. It looks like i need to cut down a bit before my body can tolerate it. I only took 2 capsules before breakfast, lunch and dinner

67 trey 08.31.07 at 7:51 pm

yea mike, interesting question there.. got a friend here with the same question mark.

anyway, is it just me… or the prices of everything on EGO just went up?

ON 100% WHEY (5lb) is RM211 now? woooo..

68 The Sandman 09.03.07 at 3:39 pm

rm210? hmmm thats certainly increased a little bit. yet still slightly cheaper than GNC.

It cant be that supply is short. Im still getting mine for rm170

69 trey 09.04.07 at 3:50 pm

well, thats what appears on their website i believe.

under table deals is a totally different story. hehe

70 dailymuscle 09.10.07 at 1:55 am

trey: the supplement industry is being hit with a significant price increase for whey protein, and prices are now at record levels - even bodybuilding.com shows a price increase. But sometimes I wonder whether our local retailers are using this as an excuse to bump up their prices way more? Let’s hope that’s not the case.

71 Ranga 09.21.07 at 5:37 pm

You should check out http://www.maxtrition.com.my. They’re prices are even cheaper and they do door-door delivery too.

72 taps 12.07.07 at 11:56 pm

Gentlemen I need a shortcut to huge Muscle growth, howz the Anator or Cell tech, Anybody knows where I can grab some anabolic steroids, any other recommendations, am at Fitness first

73 The Sandman 12.09.07 at 11:24 am

“I need a shortcut to huge Muscle growth”
-dont mind me asking, but is there any need for this “quick” approach? upcoming competition maybe?

“Anybody knows where I can grab some anabolic steroids”
-they are certainly available. In fact i know a few guys who sell them very cheap. be careful when u buy from people u dont know, generally u will get squeezed if they know u dont know about the black market rates. can hook u up with one of them but whatever deals/transactions done is at ur own risk
-most importantly, make sure u know what ur doing. if ur gonna play with steroids i really recommend u learn more about it (different story if ur already an expert). most people will tell u the good stuff, but will not elaborate on abuse and possible side effects

74 taps 12.09.07 at 8:39 pm

Hey Sandman thanks for the response, can you hook me up with some numbers of the guys, for privacy just send me a msg. anyways whats the price range in KL. Im quite versed on the whole academic stuff on the steroids effects etc, im just planning for a short term use

75 dailymuscle 12.18.07 at 12:05 am

Oh God what’s been happening here.

76 Ben 12.18.07 at 11:06 am

What is the difference between muscletech cell-tech hardcore and just plan cell-tech???

77 dailymuscle 12.18.07 at 12:39 pm

Ben: Besides the marketing hype and unnecessary fancy packaging that only raises the price… its supposed to be a ‘new formula’. As to what exactly is different.. I wouldn’t know. But personally, I’ve never bothered paying such a high price for Muscletech products - its just not worth it. There are many other supps you can consider for the money you spend.

78 The Sandman 12.18.07 at 7:55 pm

I guess “hardcore” here is mainly for branding. Probably it may contain higher dosage of thermogenics and other fat burning ingredients. I really cant elaborate more as I havent compared it to Hydroxycut “Standard”.
I had a mate who tried Hydroxycut Hardcore and it costed him about RM230.

He is a sedentary person and claimed that it worked well for him but honesty, he looks exactly the same to me. HC Hardcore ss supposedly stronger than HC “Standard”. Personally, I dont really see the purpose of paying so much for it.

You’d be better of buying a 5 pounder whey, get more serious with cardio and DIET DIET DIET!

DM: Totally agree with you. MuscleTech products are ridiculously expensive!! The normal price for Cell/Muscle Tech is almost close to my monthly car installment!!

Ben: Try checking out Weider pro shop. I’ve tried one of their fat burners before and I was content with the results I got. Price is rather cheap too. Cant remember the brand but I recall it had red labels on it….and no, its not chromium if thats what you’re thinking.

An old friend recommended a fat burner from Dymatize some time ago. He said it was good and had a “kick” as it contained ma-huang. Don’t know how true this is and again, I cant recall the brand.

Perhaps DM can enlighten us?

79 Ben 12.19.07 at 1:29 am

What are some really good but cheap creatine supplements???

80 dailymuscle 12.19.07 at 10:46 am

The Sandman: I’m not that familiar with the Dymatize range, and as for the ingredient ma-huang - it is basically a herbal source of ephedrine (also known as Ephedra). As for whether or not it is a dangerous substance - all I can say is that it has been determined to pose an unreasonable risk

Thermogenics will always contain some sort of stimulant - be it Ephedrine, Ma Huang, or Caffeine. The danger sets in because of the fact that stimulants can be dangerous when consumed while other risk factors are present (cardiovascular disease, high blood pressure, stroke, glaucoma and other conditions.

We should all have a solid understanding of how things work to equip ourself in the proper methods of getting in shape for optimum performance and to safely achieve a desired bodyweight through diet and exercise before looking at ‘other’ alternatives. It saddens me when people look at thermogenics as the ‘only’ way to achieve their goals.

The ACSM (American College of Sports Medicine) holds its stand that the use of ephedra or any dietary supplement should never substitute proper physical conditioning and nutrition - who are we to disagree?

81 powerup 01.17.08 at 12:57 pm

So whats the deal, with this Freak Fix product does is it really work, was thinking og getting it, Egonutrition doesnt hev it in stock, was going to order from the states,

82 BoNE 02.04.08 at 10:17 pm

anyone hav contact for cheap ON 100%whey protein(other than 0122178575 SAM n EGO) ?? Sandman-where u get urs for rm170?

83 dailymuscle 02.05.08 at 9:41 am

BoNE: RM170 is ridiculously cheap. Correct me if I’m wrong.. but I really doubt that anyone can get it at this price anymore. Sadly.. all the local suppliers I know have raised their prices for Whey. Sometimes… I wonder if they’re just capitalizing on the fact that whey prices has increased worldwide and making an extra buck. If anyone can get it for RM170… please do share.

84 The Sandman 02.05.08 at 1:05 pm

BoNE: Its been a while since I bought my supps from independent vendors. The last I bought mine was from Weider Pro Shop at Pyramid. They had a clearance sale (i think its still on) and I stocked up quite a bit.

As DM said, I doubt you can get whey for RM170 anymore again, expecially with the current world wide and local inflation rate shooting through the roof

85 trey 02.05.08 at 8:04 pm

yeah the cheapest i get is RM185 for Champion Nutrition (5lbs) and RM190 for ON 100% Whey.

nothing comes cheap :(

86 BoNE 02.11.08 at 5:05 pm

trey -kind to share ctc ?

87 trey 02.11.08 at 8:00 pm

oh, i thought most people here got stuffs way cheaper than i do.

well, not sure if i’m allowed to promote stuffs or other supplier in this website tho. if you email me maybe i can hook you up with the person who i always order from.

88 Bone 02.15.08 at 12:42 pm

wats ur email?u oso a hardgainer ekk

89 trey 02.15.08 at 4:13 pm

treys091@yahoo.com

well, i have a fairly small stomach so i cant eat all that much, even when i want to. So taking in big amount of calories is a huge effort for me, hence making growth a little slower for me.

but on the good side of things, i can burn off fat real easy. i can eat crap all week and still wont give me a big tummy

90 fact 03.06.08 at 1:11 am

supplements = stuffs that hasn’t been proven to work on everybody
drugs = researched done and has t.i. value.

why do u wanna spend money on something u’re not sure if it’s gonna work for u?

91 fact 03.06.08 at 1:15 am

when i just started bodybuilding, i remember someone told me that animal mstak gives u more mass while animal stak2 gives u more cut. after reading thoroughly through biochem and physiology, i realized i was being cheated.

not cool.

92 fact 03.06.08 at 1:17 am

besides protein, everything else is a placebo unless u’re stacking drugs with it.

93 The Sandman 03.06.08 at 11:27 am

I’m neither totally against nor totally in support of using drugs. I think it applies to what situation. If for competitive reasons, then of course this may not be right or fair. It’s hard to draw the line between these 2 as ethics may be an issue.

I feel that if the person wants to use drugs for personal reason(s), ie faster growth or they have “peaked” at some stage, I think it’s alright for them if they know what they’re doing, the consequences involved etc. If a newbie is thinking of dosing up on the 3rd week of hitting a gym, I find that totally stupid. You’ll see a lot of these happening in public gyms.

I guess this is quite a sensitive issue to discuss and some may think I need to get shot lol ;).

Nevertheless, it’s just my opinion though. Cheers!

94 BoNe 03.26.08 at 10:25 pm

Trey..already email 2u 4 the ctc

95 taps 05.21.08 at 10:16 am

Hey gentlemen, where can I get PCT in KL, and prohormones but not steroids, I think they are a better alternative

96 Tim @ EGOnutritions.com 06.26.08 at 7:14 pm

Wow. Can’t believe his post has been here for more than 2 years.

Thanks for all your support.

97 antonio 07.27.08 at 4:50 pm

Hey all of you bodybuilding and fitness enthusiast, there is nothing better than buying your supplements wholesale. I get get it wholesale here in K.L and want everyone to know that you should be getting from someone that has experience in bodybuilding and at the same time passion for fitness as well. Enough with all the business gimmick about comparing with Ego and Gnc. They both are still selling retail and making a huge profit out of everyone thus know nothing about fitness. Its all about sales!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I get my stuff from a guy called Prakash. He has been selling top brands since 2000 and still is unknown. Well, thats what he wants because he sells it WHOLESALE and dirt cheap. he can can really give you guys genuine advises on should you or should you not take certain products.

98 antonio 07.27.08 at 5:01 pm

I still gotta give credit to EGo for trying to keep the prices rather low. Its business at the end of the day but GnC no way hosay

99 dailymuscle 07.28.08 at 11:14 am

Antonio: Self advertising?

100 antonio 07.28.08 at 1:14 pm

We have to face the facts that Ego is not the cheapest…..There is nothing to advertise around here. Free country mate! If my guy runs out of stock, I be sure to get from Ego.

101 antonio 07.28.08 at 1:36 pm

Cheers!

102 jsa97 07.31.08 at 10:06 pm

I am only into bodybuilding for 6 months and I am very happy to have found Egonutritions. The great store front and helpful staff are blessings for newbies like me. Say, Tim, could you guys help to special order a Size S weight lifting belt for a slim lady like me?

103 dailymuscle 08.01.08 at 12:51 am

jsa97: How heavy are you going that you need a weigh lifting belt? I’ve never used one myself up to today.

104 jsa97 08.01.08 at 2:32 pm

Not heavy. I am aware that using weight lifting belt wil not develop the core musles. I only intend to use it as a precautionary measure for the last set of squat and deadlift.

105 antonio 08.01.08 at 8:56 pm

Hey jsa,

Thats a very smart way to train. Avoid injuries. Safety first. Dont worry about not being able to develop your core by squats and deadlifts. There many other safer less compounded exercise that you can do to develop core strength.

Get a belt. and watch that form of yours.

106 dailymuscle 08.05.08 at 9:15 am

jsa97: That’s a good move. Safety first! :) Antonio agrees too.

107 panghk 10.02.08 at 8:26 pm

Today was my first time walking into the EGO nutritions at The Curve after having found it hidden in some corner. And i can say the service was really “good”. Contrary to the comments i have read from this thread on the helpful staff, it was totally disappointing!
I walked in the store and there was this guy sitting at the counter. No greetings or smile. He got up, stand and watch from behind. Never even asked me what am i looking for or any help i need.
I went one round the store…and left… and this guy was still standing there…no goodbyes…not a single word utter from him! horrible experience!!!!

108 The Sandman 10.02.08 at 10:45 pm

Haiya panghk, why so fussy. If u want something, then u ask the salesman la. If the salesman follow u around the whole shop, then ull get upset, say they harrasing u la, forcing u to buy la etc etc.

I for one prefer doing my scouting on my own. And if i need advise, then ill call the sales person.

I dont care of the service is good or shitty. What matters to me is what im gonna pay.

109 Jep 10.03.08 at 5:58 pm

Quite the attention seeker arent you panghk?

I agree with Sandman. I don’t like buggy salespeople, but they should be attentive if i need assistance.

And if u just walked one round and cabut then what’s to expect? Usually sales ppl also start pitching when u show interest in a product.

110 Panghk 10.04.08 at 11:31 am

Thanks Sandman and Jep for your reply! I m not like the two of you who maybe knows what you want when you get in there. I m a complete newbie to supplements. Don’t even know what to ask or what’s there. It can be a daunting experience.

And actually i did stopped to look at some of the products but this sales person just hide in a corner. Then i stopped by the counter to browse a catalog and gave a quick look at him…still no response. Is he afraid of eaten by the customer?

Being a sales person, they have to be sensitive to customers needs. Hey, i m the only customer in the store. Is it so hard for him to just ask whether i need any assistance? A sales person should know how to put the customer at ease. Well, i guess being a customer, each person has their own expectations on how they want to be served.

111 antonio 10.05.08 at 11:26 am

Dear Panghk,

My friend Prakash would be delighted to assist in your search for supplements and guidance to usage of them. He doesnt hv a fancy store like EGO or GNc but, just a warehouse for wholesale supplements. I think with him there is more of a personal form of communication.

His no is 0162167935…..just tell him I gave it to u via this forum.

Have a nice day!

112 sKy 11.20.08 at 3:08 pm

hi, i’m new with body building. I need some supplement and lost fat suggestion for beginner. Anyone can let me knw wat should i take ?? ONS 100% Whey Protein Gold Standart is a good start ??

113 antonio 11.21.08 at 1:48 pm

Yo Sky!

Taking protein is a must. U wanna loose some fat so whey protein should be the way for u. Try not to use any fat burners quite yet. Use ur body’s own ability to loose that fat by starting up cardio and having to eat clean. Increase ur own metabolic by having more smaller frequent meals in a day.Give ur self a good 2 months of this before u hit the burners….Call my buddy Prakash. He will give more advices and a deal on supps! His no. is 0162167935

Keep in mind, stick to the basic

Get started dude!
