Located across the Asia Jaya LRT station in Petaling Jaya, you can actually see the gym and the people inside if you pass by through the Federal Highway.
* The best parking facility - Before 8 AM and after 6 PM, the parking is free.
* Yeah, the dreaded 2 floor concept. Men locker room are upstairs and the ladies are same floor with the entrance.
* Only few cute receptionist.
* This place is quite huge. Ample of cardio equipment and most are new equipments.
* 1 studio and 1 yoga room.
* I love the free weight area, its huge and all the machines are double here. 2 bench press, 2 smith machine, 7 work bench, tons of new equipments. Need to do tricep pulldowns? We have 10 machines… cool.
* Ample space for abs workout.
* People - hmm…. Recently the crowd has grown bigger. Chicks, OK lah, since I only workout at night, I miss out the working crowd.
* Men locker room is big. No worries there.
* Here, the instructors leave you alone, they don’t try to pester you into PT.Read the full review here.

Fitness First at Menara Axis is my favourite too. This is also where I work out in the evenings after a busy day at work.
Personally, I find the crowd of people here to be a perfect mix. When I say this, I mean that there is just the right number of hardcore bodybuilders, intermediate ones, and beginners at the free weight area. This makes a difference, cos trust me, you wouldnt want to be in the midst of too many hardcore bodybuilders, or at the same time, have too many beginners walking around. And let’s not forget the ladyboys.. there aren’t too many of them here to annoy you. Just perfect! Although the crowd does get pretty heavy, especially on Mondays (nothing new), I rarely have problems with machines, benches, dumbbells being used/occupied. Or maybe that’s because I’m too intimidating to a beginner and they’ll normally move away? Hmmm… can’t be. I’ve often been told I’m TOO NICE. :P

U have katoeys in Fitness First? i don’t see any in my gym, cali fitness…which restroom do they use? anyway, i find them to be quite nice people…
by the way, DM, r u born in the year of the goat? if yes, then, we r of the same age ! :P
i go to axis, how come i dont notice the gyrating weirdos or the bouncing indian man? :D
wow, some people are just weird.
MINTy: What’s a katoey? Yes, I was born in the year of the goat.
asmadi: You may see bouncy the indian man if you workout after 8.30pm. The gyrating weirdos do it hidden in the corners.. thinking nobody can see them. Nobody escapes my eye ;)
I need to make a visit to FF Axis, it’ll probably take me a few mins to guess who DM is haha.
Jon: Don’t be too confident now.
Yes! I have seen that bouncing Indian man. What’s with him? Don’t forget the other Indian guy who exhales through his teeth… SHEEEET SHEEET SHEEET (Can’t spell the sound). Is it just me, or there are just too many Middle Estern men there. Like they are “preparing” for something. LOL! Monday’s are BAD, there was once I couldn’t get a locker. And yes, the Indon in the locker is weird.
DM,
katoey = ladyboy
h_hector: Yeah.. I think somebody needs to bounce some sense into him. I dunno abt Mr Sheet Sheet though.. sounds pretty funny. The thing is.. I cant hear a thing when I’m at the gym cos I’m always on my MP3 player.
MINTy: Ah.. thank u. I feel smarter already.
really that good meh? i have just recently sign up for the trial package 1 month in fitness first there..
I train every morning there and frankly speaking this gym is the worst gym i ever been compared to those that i have been..
Problems..
1) No towel service ( other gyms gives u towel to use 1)
2) The free weights facilities abit not very well, especially the bars, the max is only 50 pounds..very not enough… so is the barbell curls, i think they should have some curl bar there where ppl can slot in how much weight they want.
3) the Dip machine is not very good over there
4) abdomen machine very few
5) the benches just look weird for bench press.
I guess i complain a lot, but well i will change gym once i am done with the trial. So far i think celeb fitness is quite well equipped, at least services wis is good and also quite a range of equipments they have.
oh yeah, fitness first doesn’t even have the proper mats..
dissapointed..i think i am not so happy with the menara axis branch..
Alex: Worst gym? You must be out of your mind.
1) Why is towel service even a problem? What will we start wanting next… underwear drying service?
2) There are at least 5 free bars (you can add 1 kg, or 1000kg) neatly stored in place. There are both the cambered bar (EZ bar/curled bar.. whatever you call it) and the straight bars as well.
3) Dip machine not very good? Please explain.
4) There are 2 weighted machines that target the abs, and about 5 of those where you get to use your bodyweight to do crunches. That’s more than enough for any gym.
5) Benches look weird? Please explain… cos honestly, the benches are perfectly fine.
Also, what do you mean by improper mats? I think you won’t be happy anywhere you go, not only FF menara axis.
Yeah i do agree with dailymuscle about the point that u highlight. If you u dun like the place u wont go there everyday !! Like my working place there is a mamak stall where i can hang out for breakfast, bcos of the service is sucks i see the indian waiter i feel like SLAP kau him damn arrogant the fodd is ok everything ok even 5 minutes away from my office. But i decide not to have breakfast bcos the particular waiter is suck.
Since u workout every morning i dun think u dun like the place that bad maybe there is some other reason u dun like the gym.
alex…u paid a freakin RM25 and u complaining?..hehe weird…even if u paid a full rm180 every month dont tell me u expect a red carpet now there for u ya?..its a freaking gym..not hollywood..plus u goin to hollywood anyway..celeb suits u better..people go to gym to workout not pose..ur an artist ey?.. Plus DM said already what i need to say..
theres plenty of bars 5 olympic bars,2 ez bar n 2 straight 15kg bars in axis..u can load up all u want..its more like u dont know what ur doin?..how long u been exercising again?..u know why there’s no towel services? its because if ur a regular in any gym..it is scientificly proven that if u fall sick, 70% of that is for sure u pick it up in the gym..all the germs n stuff.. and alot of those comes from towels my dear..u should read more..ask a doctor n he tells u the same stuff..
dip machine? there’s a assist dip machine and freeweight dip machine over there…for the beginners and the hardcore-ers..do u know what a dip machine is by the way?..which muscle ur working when u do dips alex?..hehe sorry just had to bring that up..kinda funny mate..
abs machine few?…who use ‘em anyway?..everyone knows doin crunch on the floor/swissball/leg raise on the dip mac is the mose effective..so why use a machine?..its for beginners n those with no imagination…
bench look weird?..hehe can u show me a normal bench alex?..it looks like a bar stool is it?..
proper mat?..we are lucky there are plenty of those..even thou its not clean all the time.. again..wat does a proper mat look like alex?..like ur bed?…heh
its a gym..not a house..
ur welcome alex!
Wow thats alot bullet shot on your head. Dun simply complaint, btw most of u guys workout at FF axis ? How was puchong branch any feedback? i been there once a passport member. I try out the cardio wave it was awesome really can feel the pain on butt top and is tiring as well.
ZeNeGer: I’m at FF Axis, Consplant, and Menara Manulife, and personally I prefer FF Menara Axis. I’ve never been to the Puchong branch.. but I heard it’s pretty alright.
I think that Menara Axis fitness first is great too! My favourite among all the FF…
Unfortunately, FF Axis is too far.
I’ve stop all forms of exercise since I injured my ankle…. getting a little (maybe not a little) lazy and out of shape.
I am currently hunting for a gym nearby.
Did a survey on MyFitness SP but they don’t have classes after 8 P.M.
Maybe I should pay FF Axis a little visit too.
FF Axis can be crowded at times. Personally, if you ask me, I’d advise you to choose a gym that is either close to your workplace, or close to home - otherwise, you’d end up skipping your gym sessions sooner or later.
reading all the comments above.. just wanna add. of all FF that ive been to, i definitely love the axis branch. perfect mix, not so much of disturbance and people minding their own business. what i need is to have a peaceful workout without nobody bothering me.. but a hot looking person would be an exception tho. =)
I agree. FF at Axis is one of the best FF around. The feeling I get when I work out at FF Axis is different to the feeling when I work out at fidd FF branches. There’s just something about FF at Axis that makes me feel at “home”. Fancy the crowd too. However, I just thought that classes like Body Attack should be scheduled sometimes around after half 7. Just a suggestion though :-)
qookie: unfortunately.. I’m hardly at axis now. heh heh. Hey wait a minute… are you male or female? Hmmm.
Jeff: Yeah.. FF Axis was like ‘home’ to me too. Then when I started to frequent FF at Manulife… that became my new ‘home’. To the extent that the front desk girls had memorized my membership number & car number to jot down on the parking ticket everytime I get my ticket validated. And most of the trainers know me, and treat me as a friend. Of course.. they have no idea who I am. ;)
As for your suggestion on the Body Attack classes.. why don’t you drop a note to the manager?
errrmmm…..does “Jeff” sound like a girl’s name? Ha ha ha……of course I am a guy. Anyway, talk about the front desk people, they are friendly too. As for the trainers, I only know one of them who is actually friendly. I guess everyone is anyway but I just never talk to them.
And yeah, the body attack classes, there’s only one class that is actually scheduled at 7:25 and that’s on Wed. Other than that, they will be at half 5 or something. Who is the manager by the way?
Been to FF at Bukit Tinggi once last week on Fri. Mmmmm……new and I guess members are not really “upbeat” in classes. My guess is it will take sometime before everyone knows each other and make noise during classes like other FF. :-) It’s only my two-cent worth of opinion :-)
Fitness first, their gym is great…but governed by lack lustre service, sales consultant that dont know how to spell “appointment”..hint Manulife…. their ever so dodgy sales tactics, how they take advantage of those that do not understand english well-forcing them in a way to take the passport membership when they do not need it, or rather know nuts about. So if you ask me, yes there is lots of complains going about and we’re here to be the stabilo boss.
Fitness First: You’ve got a personal experience you’d like to share? Rather than copying and pasting from someone else’s blog.
True, great mix of a crowd… too many beginners and you start loosing motivation… too many hardcore bodybuilders and competition gets intense. Plus, you’re right; there’s this thing about Mondays, everybody’s trying to get their workout in… by Thursday hardly anyone around!
