Physical Perfection - Finding Inspiration When You Least Expect It

I love reading materials that inspire… watching a movie that leaves me with a feeling of knowing that I’m meant to live for so much more… listening to songs that make you want to push yourself further.. in other words - I love being inspired. Perhaps thats why I sometimes get pretty carried away when I write on motivation and stuff. Everyone loves being inspired. Right?

I am fortunate enough to have obtained a hardcopy of the Animal Owner’s Manual (thanks to the guys at EGOnutritions.com), and was flipping through the manual while sms-ing a friend last night while in bed (yeah.. DM’s bedtime storybook) and came across something that pierced me and sent a shiver down my spine. This is inspiration on a whole new level - it’s Hardcore.

Below is the entire writeup for everyone’s benefit. If you’ve always been a ‘lazy’ person or someone who’s always only given a half-hearted attempt to most things in life.. you would proabably never be able to relate to it at all. The writeup may also be a bit crude and unacceptable to some of you, but if you are anything like me, it will definitely make you sit back, and think, and want to do something about it.

Walk Away
By Machine

“In for the kill.” This has always meant more to me than just a statement of aggression. In all things a man must establish a certain level of commitment. In bodybuilding, there are many opportunities for success on so many levels — winning a show is far from the only way.

Remember Ronnie Coleman lost for a long time before he won the big shows. If winning was the only meter he measured his career by, he would have quit long ago. The road I walk down has had so many turns for someone as young as I am… So many trials, so many hurdles have stood in my way. The only way for me to succeed was to become totally committed to the idea that greatness wasn’t something you went out and bought like a truck or a house. Greatness was having to become so ugly that you were beautiful, so rusty that you shined, and so driven you could run through a wall if there was even a chance to get one step closer to the truth.

In my life, situations, people and negativity became chains that tried to hold me down. I won’t be chained to the earth. As the phoenix rose from the ashes to soar free above the clouds, so will I. In all things that you do, do not strive to be admired or loved for the battles you have won. Keep your head down, your shoulder square to the wheel, and drive yourself beyond anything you ever thought possible.

In living this way, you will soon be admired for the courage you have shown, the will to fight against all odds. You will be loved as only a true warrior can be loved. Bodybuilding is strength and suffering, beauty and savagery, freedom and chains, all at the same time. Praise any man who chooses to pursue this life and walk it the way it’s supposed to be walked. If you’re not in for the kill and lack the strength and commitment, then just walk away…

I personally believe that there’s nothing in this world that you can’t be if you want it bad enough. So, if you ever fail to achieve a realistic goal/target you set for yourself, something you desire so much… I say it’s not your gym equipment, it’s not your training partner, its not your personal trainer, it’s not because you can’t afford top-of-the-line supplements, it’s not because of ANYTHING else - it’s because of YOU.

hi DM, welcome back! :) yea its inspring. On another note, it may be becoz the goal is not desirable or big enough. For example, setting your goal to earn RM500 is so pale in comparison with RM1 mil, that wouuld motivate one to get up and go for it in the morning. :P It s about what u really want and desire, not what everyone else want. But then… who doesn’t want a hot body eh?

Very motivative. Whatever we do or pursuing, we will have to do it with full dedication and heart. Yeah, must be serious about it now. Cannot complaint of the hard time too much.

steveneleven: yeah, but honestly, to me - though i want a hot body.. i also want it for personal satisfaction… i would say the scales tip in favour of personal satisfaction. I believe the power and ability to alter your own physique is amazing, and is something money cant buy.. the feeling is pretty indescribable actually.

doglover: It’s nice to be missed.. heh heh. By the way.. why do i feel as if I know you…

MINTy: Nope.. you ain’t mine yet.

ano: Good move. I passed mine to a friend to read today..

dedication vs. obsession
i respect those natural bodybuilder with dedication. but from what i read, too much obsession always lead to drug abuse (and maybe self-destruction ;P )

9 stupe 08.07.06 at 11:13 am

T+1 - agree to a certain extend, it seems that the cycling world are plaqued with drug abuse.

anyway, for bodybuilding, it’s no secret those top guys takes drugs anyway, just don’t get caught!

Yeah, I know where they are coming from….it really requires dedication to down 11 tablets (some are really big ones) in their Animal Pak daily ;P

11 dailymuscle 08.07.06 at 10:49 pm

Gtan: Just wondering… You’re not implying that the Animal Pak are ‘drugs’ are you? By the way.. I’ve tried Animal Cuts before (9tabs+capsules), and I can swallow them at one go and a gulp of water. *grin*

12 Gtan 08.08.06 at 9:16 am

Not at all. The Animal Pak is the most ‘mega’ multi vitamin and mineral supplement I’ve taken both in terms of strength and physical size!

If you are able to gulp all 11 tablets in a single go, you should qualify for some kind of prize!

13 steveneleven 08.08.06 at 10:06 am

wait a min guys.. animalpak is actually pills? I thought it has meat in it, as the name implies.. ANI-MAL,… guess I was wrong

14 dailymuscle 08.08.06 at 10:44 am

Gtan: I think 11 is a bit too many for me.

steveneleven: I don’t know if I should laugh or cry at your comment.

I feel like a fat aneroxic man….
**sigh**

It needs some getting used to with the Animal Paks, got them the other day at Ego’s.

Jay : those Amino Acid pills are huge LOL.
