Before you think that I’m slowly turning my site into an online store… stop right there. Well I’m not. The reason behind this is to expose as many of you as I can to the wide range of Sports Nutrition products that are available here in Malaysia. Also, I’d like everyone to know Sports Nutrition Supplements are good stuff, that when used correctly, can supplement your diet and produce better results/gains at the gym. Supplements are NOT a substitute for a crappy diet and training program - remember that.

At the same time, I’m not endorsing/promoting or guaranteeing any results with these supplements - but I’ll say that they are indeed top of the class items that I have personally tried, and am happy to publicize for free on my site.

Of course, along with the publicity, I am also extending a good deal on these items with a little help from a friendly online retailer - but these prices are only valid here, where you saw it first - at dailymuscle.com.

Cool. But was hoping for a sale on basic protein as well :)

Been missing your posts, man. How about an update on your progress? Still chugging along at full steam? Or stagnating a little, and have some new plan to jumpstart again? Any new goals? Pics of chicks in the gym..? :)

i read e product info on Hydroxycut:

“Hydroxycut Hardcore isn’t for your mom who wants to drop 10 pounds. It isn’t for your girlfriend who wants to “get toned.” And it definitely isn’t for your squash-playing brother who wants to “look athletic.” Hydroxycut Hardcore is for you and YOU ONLY. Why? Because you’re a real, red blooded, train-till-you-puke, eat-egg whites-till-you’re-blue-in-the face bodybuilder. And like all true bodybuilders, you want the leanest, freakiest physique possible.”

but im not a bodybuilder :S

i was hoping on smth fr e Nutrex range hehe… :D

DM,

Don’t ever feel guilty of recommending supplements man! Thanks to you I’m regularly buying BSN’s N.O Xplode from your contact. The price is very reasonable.

GNC has recently started selling BSN’s products too. And guess what, their prices are simply disgusting! Thanks to you I get it at more than RM100 cheaper.

BTW, would appreciate if you could educate us on fat burners. Am thinking of buying one but don’t know when should I start using it and what products are best.

fitchick: The Muscletech brand is famous for their marketing schemes. I dont blame them for coming up with such a writeup, cos after all, their target market is the male bodybuilder.. and you’d be surprised how a writeup like that can fan the ego of an overweight inexperienced gym rat. But their products DO work, though a little bit on the pricey side compared to other brands.

izyz: You’re most welcome. I’m just sharing some of the benefits I get. I’ve been wanting to write on thermogenics for a long time. I guess its about time I did it. I really do want to get the message across to people that these supplements work when used correctly, and that they are not to be confused with the dangerous herbal stuff a.k.a slimming pills you read about in the papers, ads, direct selling brochures, some which have resulted in the death of people. Thanks for the reminder. Will do it this weekend hopefully. Stay tuned everyone!

6 devx 02.24.07 at 11:09 pm

Any chance you might get a better price for whey (especially On whey)?

7 Celestine 02.26.07 at 3:23 am

hey DM! :D

Happy to see you back and introducing us great products!

Questions: Does Hydroxycut really work? Have you tried it yourself? Do I have to do any additional workouts or special routines when I consume it?

Thanks.

8 Guy 02.26.07 at 2:15 pm

Recently went to GNC just to chek it out… They stared selling BSN range of goods. Their Syntha-6 is around RM220. thats 40 bux more than you!!! now you can change your RSP from 193 to 220 :p Keep up the good work man!

9 dailymuscle 02.26.07 at 7:16 pm

devx: ON Whey is easily available for RM180. You’d probably need to order a dozen if you want it any cheaper.

Celestine: Hydroxycut does work, when combined with a healthy eating and exercise plan. When you’re on a thermogenic, generally, you’d want to up your cardio a few notches. That goes for those who just want to shed bodyfat without a thermogenic even. And of course, most importantly - watch what you eat. :)

Guy: Of course - didnt I say this was a SALE?

I’m currently taking Cellmass right now, which contains a “new” form of creatine (Creatine Ethyl Ester Malate - CEM3). I used to simply take Creatine Ethyl Ester (CEE).

I have 4 questions:

1. What is the difference between the CEE and CEM3?

2. I used to take about 6 grams of CEE both before and after a workout. With Cellmass, however, I’m only taking 3 grams (one scoop) of CEM3 after the workout (taking protein and noxplode before the workout). Can I take an additional scoop of Cellmass after my workout to get back to 6 grams of creatine?

3. I’m trying to take 5 grams of L-Glutamine 3 times a day. However, Cellmass has 2 grams of Glutamine AKG per serving. Thus, referring back to the previous question, if I took 2 scoops of Cellmass after my workout, I could hit 4 grams of Glutamine AKG after my workout (close enough). Would that work?

4. Generally, you’re supposed to take protein immediately after a workout, but Cellmass suggests to take protein 30 minutes after Cellmass intake to maximize results. Can I take protein with cellmass or would that diffuse the effects? It doesn’t seem as though the substances from Cellmass would conflict with the protein. Just curious.

Almost everywhere I’ve checked said to only take 1 scoop of Cellmass, but it seems as though 2 scoops after a workout would seem to be more beneficial, and put me back to what I used to do. However, I don’t want to overdo it, or jeapardize my health. Let me know what you think. (sorry about the lengthiness.)

11 dailymuscle 03.05.07 at 5:27 pm

Anthony: Your questions are really deep. Unfortunately, I do not have experience on CEE. I’ve only tried BSN’s Cellmass, which contains it’s proprietary CEM3. So.. i can’t really give you a comparison. To try address some of your concerns:

1. CEE is Creatine Ethyl Ester, and CEM3 is a proprietary creatine product by BSN, and stands for Creatine Ethyl Ester Malate. Unfortunately.. i hated chemistry back in school and never did pay much attention then.

2. I’ve always believed in following the instructions on the label of any supplement. After all.. the manufacturer would know best.. .don’t you think?

3. Sorry, I do not know.

4. It’s not a matter of the ingredients in cellmass conflicting with the protein, but ideally, cellmass should be consumed with an empty stomach, and nothing else in there to slow down absorption. The general guideline of protein taken immediately after a workout is that protein should be consumed, ideally within the 60 minutes ‘window of opportunity’ after a workout session.

I dont think taking 2 scoop would jeopardize your health, but is it necessary or would you be just peeing out the excess in the toilet? Once again, I believe in following the recommendations by the manufacturer, in this case, BSN - one scoop after your workout.

Hope I’ve been of some help.

12 Anthony Z 03.06.07 at 10:13 pm

Lol DM. Sorry about the deep questions. I like to be very specific about this kind of stuff. And yes, I hated chemistry as well. I tried 2 scoops of cellmass after a workout, and all I did was urinate more. One scoop is more than sufficient.

And yes, you’ve been a great help. As always, keep up the good work.

13 Mojam 03.08.07 at 10:44 pm

Hey man, thanks for getting me those 2 tubs of NOX.. appreciate it

14 tim @ egonutritions.com 03.09.07 at 7:24 pm

Anthony, i think you need a more expert opinion on your questions. DM’s just full of muscles. ;) I will answer your question thoroughly in simple english.

To answer your question:
1. CEE is your regular Creatine modified to have an Esterified Ethyl side chain. CEM3 on the other hand is regular Creatine modified with an Esterified Ethly Malate side chain. Why modify? Simple. To accelerate creatine adsorption and dispersion into muscle tissues. Why CEE and/or CEM3? Simple. Every product has a technology behind it. An analogy; CEE would be AMD while CEM3 would be Intel. Both provide fast speed (adsorption) and does its job. Both have their own individual intel behind it. Its a matter of which is more suitable for you.

2. Now my good friend, 6g of CEE is understood, but why would you require 6g of CEM3? It does not take 6g of CEE to exert the same effect as 3g of CEM3. We have a Malate side chain on CEM3 which helps creatine diffusion faster. You would need ~20g of Creatine Monohydrate to exert the same effect as 6g of CEM3. Whoa.

3. Whats wrong with you man? Are you a perfectionist? Your questions sounds more like an algebra equation to me. Does L-Glutamine and Glutamine-AKG seem the same to you? Unless i cant spell it wont. Glutamine-AKG is also modified to have an alpha-keto-glutarate side tail to impart maximum adsorption. In total your 15g of L-glutamine a day would be (an assumption here) 40-60% adsorped by your body. While 4g of Glutamine-AKG will probably allow 60-70% adsorption while requiring less quantities.

4. As mentioned in my first three answer, the matter at hand that we can now pinpoint to is simply a matter of “adsorption”. Protein after CellMass.
You should be getting the idea now. What you want here now is your muscles being fueled by creatine when your glycogen storages are low. And not letting it end up in the toilet bowl because poor creatine had to fight with mr. protein into penetrating DM’s muscles for muscle fibre regeneration. I mean, i know i’d wasted my money denying CEM3 into my body.

So there you have it. Thank you for your time to read this.

15 Anthony Z 03.09.07 at 9:12 pm

Rock and roll tim. I pretty much assumed as much for each, but I needed something to support my assumptions. Thanks for the awesome insight.

16 dailymuscle 03.12.07 at 11:19 am

Mojam: You’re welcome.

Tim: Holy Cow! I’m impressed. I especially love your analogy where you say “CEE would be AMD while CEM3 would be Intel”. You couldnt have said it any clearer. Thanks a million. By the way.. all this talk of Creatine… sigh.. i’ve run outta Cellmass… don’t rub it in!

Hey DM - I personally LOVE the results I am seeing Gaspari’s lineup these days.

I saw an ad in this months’s issue of Muscle and Fitness Magazine and thought I’d pass along the info on how to get samples of their top 3 products (SuperPump, SizeOn, and Novadex) for Free:
http://blog.sngurus.com/2007/06/free-gaspari-nutrition-products.html

Enjoy!

newbie73: Check your mail - I’ve responded to your questions.

Sports Nutrition Guru: Its great to see you being a part of this site. We don’t have access to Gaspari’s lineup here in Malaysia, and we’re forced to pay really high prices to get them shipped into the country - even then, there’s no guarantee that it will get past customs. However, I have tried Gaspari’s SizeOn.. and i think it’s just amazing. Will be doing a writeup on it pretty soon.
