Everyday Weight Loss Tip #2 - A Change Of Lifestyle

The Wikipedia says that lifestyle is the way a person (or a group) lives. This includes patterns of social relations, consumption, entertainment, and dress. A lifestyle typically also reflects an individual’s attitudes, values or worldview.

You’ll NEVER be able to keep your weight down permanently if you jump right back in to your old sloppy eating habits and lazy behaviour everytime after you successfully lose weight. Being at your best physical shape has its price, and it has its rewards. If you’re going to diet… you need to couple your diet with a lifestyle change - better eating habits, more activity in your daily routine, constant awareness of what you’re putting into your mouth, etc. When you change your lifestyle, attitude and eating habits, THEN, you set yourself up for long-term success.

Temporary or ‘quick-fix’ diets will get you there for a short period of time, but without a lifestyle change… you’re just going to gain all the weight back (and probably more).

You will fail if you do not change from that lifestyle which got you into bad shape in the first place.

As the saying goes…Losing weight is easy, maintaining it is much harder.

Always have a cheat diet! It helps you to relax! But do not binge!

fitchick: Haha.. yeah.. those are the words we should engrave onto ourselves.

The Dumb: Exactly - I guess there will always be people who only wish to look slim/fit for a certain occasion, and then resort to a crash diet for a quick solution, then when everything is over, they get back to their previous bad shape… simply because they’re content with the way they are. Not everyone can realise the need to keep fit and healthy when they’re young.. most people realise that at a much older age.. which is when it gets difficult and is sometimes too late.

Shaun: Yes.. it should be a cheat MEAL, at most once a week. Cheat days, cheat weekends, etc are just pushing it.

I am 23 years old and I was diagnosed with insulin dependent diabetes. As much as I know about the importance of healthy eating and the consequences of bad eating habits, I still find myself binge eating and the wrong foods at that. How do I work to end this endless cycle I find myself in of bingeing and beating myself up about it later?
