How to Lose Weight during Ramadan

by dailymuscle on August 31, 2009

The fasting month of Ramadan, for many Muslims, is a great opportunity to lose weight. There are just so many resources and exercise recommendations, exercise strategies from many people, fitness enthusiasts and trainers out there - so today, I’m going to give you some very simple guidelines that you can apply to ANY routine.

There’s no rocket science here, but in analyzing the recommendations from various people, I’ve come to a conclusion that it is so easy to overlook the basics when we are trying new things to lose fat during the fasting month.

So, with that in mind, my recommendations for the month of Ramadan are:

1. Eat healthy during the periods you are allowed to

This one’s quite obvious right? But surprisingly, it is the most difficult to follow. Why? Because when you are hungry, thirsty, and demotivated in the evenings, moments before you break your fast, it is so easy to make poor food choices and opt for the greasiest and most sugary options you can find. Moreover, it doesn’t help at all when the Ramadan bazaars make these foods very accessible and affordable.

Preventing Influenza A(H1N1) at the Gym - Play Your Part

Today’s news reports that three experts from the World Health Organisation (WHO) will study the rising mortality rate due to the influenza A(H1N1) in our country Malaysia as the death toll hit 68 today. The WHO experts would also study the spread of the H1N1 at the community level to determine why the virus spread so fast in this country compared with others.

Well, let ME tell you why. [click to continue...]

Is Bigger Better? My Opinion on getting selected to be on The Biggest Loser Asia

by dailymuscle on August 10, 2009

Now that the ground auditions are over in Malaysia, many people I know have been left wondering whether they stand a chance to be on the show.

At the audition, some were also secretly disappointed that there were ‘bigger’ people who showed up at the ground audition, thus making it tougher to be selected.

As we already know, only 30 applicants will be chosen to be on the show, and with over 200 people turning up for the ground auditions in Malaysia alone - and with applications STILL OPEN up to the end of August… the question I want to deal with today is whether Bigger is Better? Burn MORE Fat! (and other benefits) by Making Continuous Changes

by dailymuscle on August 6, 2009

If you’re like most fitness enthusiasts out there (me included), you can certainly relate to that feeling of getting very ‘comfortable’ with our workout routine.

It is always the case… we set a goal for ourselves, make that commitment to sacrifice our time and effort by starting an exercise program - then a few months in, we’re seeing the results of our hard work - so we keep doing what we do - eating right, exercising consistently… rinse, and repeat.
