The Fun Theory – Making Lifestyle Habits Fun to Follow

by Noel Chelliah on Monday, May 24, 2010

We all have things in life that we KNOW we need to do… but may sometimes hate doing it. For example:

- taking the trash out
- picking up the kids from school
- attending to the garden
- going for that half-hour jog
- waking up early for a workout
- showing up at the gym and getting a workout done even if your trainer can’t make it
- eating those veggies
- cooking your own meals

I could go on and on. We hate doing these things because they are sometimes… no fun. Watch this video below for a little eye-opener on how a little creativity can change our habits:

Good habits can sometimes be tough to instill – however, with a little bit of creativity, you just might surprise yourself.

Your task this week

I’d like you to think of one activity, preferably fitness-related (something you hate doing but you know is good for you) – and think of how you can make it a little more fun. Then once you’ve determined that – go ahead and do it! This could be going for a jog, running on the treadmill, taking your dog out for a walk, etc.

Good habits are easier to follow when they are fun.

Do share what you’ve discovered or what you’re going to try – leave a comment below. Have an awesome week ahead!
