My Personal Training Programme
The secret to the success of my programme is the initial fitness evaluations, intensive workouts and day-to-day monitoring of your program. You will never feel alone in your journey toward better health.
My programme involves a 4-point plan of attack - Exercise, Nutrition, Lifestyle, and Accountability.
Point 1 - Exercise
My exercise program will be tailored to your abilities and needs, and will be built around basic human movements such as : squatting, lunging, bending, pushing, pulling and rotating. What does that mean to you? First, all of these movements mimic similar actions that you perform in your everyday life. For example, when you sit in a chair, you’re basically performing a squat. The improvements you see will be extremely helpful - imagine being able to change that tyre all by yourself, fight off an attacker, or even carry those heavy shopping bags with ease - both you men and women!
My program is designed to make you stronger during these routine activities and help prevent unnecessary injuries to your back and joints.
I also won’t be wasting your time working on just one tiny muscle group; instead I’ll be including exercises that hit dozens of muscles at the same time. You’ll work harder, burn more calories, lose weight and get stronger in less time!
Point 2 - Nutrition
Starting an exercise programme does not give you the license to eat anything you want. The most important part of a new fitness program is keeping an eye on what you put in your mouth. You can exercise and still not lose the unwanted weight because you haven’t changed how much and what you eat.
First, I’ll measure your unique resting metabolic rate which will give you an approximation of how many calories your body will burn on any given day. This way, I will know, and can ensure that you do not consume too many or too few calories for your body.
Secondly, I’ll personally be monitoring everything that goes into your mouth. I use a Food Diary with all my clients to keep track of food intake. We’ll then periodically review the diary together in order to plan your eating and help you make better food choices.
Point 3 - Lifestyle
It is easy for me to control things for you during your workout - it’s the other 23 hours in the day that worry me. The Health and Lifestyle Questionnaire will give me a better picture of what you have to deal with once you leave the gym. With this extra information, we can work together to bypass any possible barriers that might prevent you from successfully completing the program and attaining your fitness goals. Expect to be making gradual changes to your lifestyle that will leave you feeling great at the end of the programme.
Point 4 - Accountability
Throughout the programme - you will be accountable to me. I will keep track of the amount of physical activity you’ll be doing and also your food intake. I will help you correct undesirable habits and keep you motivated to stay on track and to reach your goals.
Guided Self-Training
In order to really drop the pounds, firm up the flab and elevate your energy levels, you’ll need to do some work on your own. But don’t worry, as I’m here to guide you through these workouts too. These personal workouts should be enjoyable for you like walking at a park, mowing the lawn, swimming, and many others based on your personal preferences.
