BEGINNER’S GUIDE TO THE KETO DIET

A keto diet will help you lose fat fast, drop the weight, tone up, and have you fit into your old clothes again.

That’s the truth. I’ve seen it, and so have you – which is probably why you’re reading this. So keep reading.

SO WHAT MAKES THE KETO DIET SO SPECIAL?

It’s a diet that allows you to eat foods that are typically ‘forbidden’.

Bacon? Sure.

Butter? More please.

Fried eggs and sausage? I need another plate.

It’s almost like a dream come true.

Now compare that to me asking you to eat more cabbage and carrots.

HERE’S A LIST OF KETO DIET-FRIENDLY FOODS:

  • Beef

  • Chicken

  • Sausages

  • Cream Cheese

  • Sour Cream

  • Ham

  • Lamb Chops

  • Bacon

  • Coconut Oil

  • Butter

  • Avocado

  • Bacon <— so unbelievable it deserves to be mentioned again

FOODS TO STAY AWAY FROM:

  • Bread

  • Pasta

  • Cereals

  • Rice

  • Most fruits

  • Pastries

  • All lovely sweet treats and sugary desserts

Sure, you may love your bread and carbs, but many are willing to go through that sacrifice in exchange of all that fatty foods in the keto diet you get to eat.

SHOULD YOU DO THE KETO DIET?

I’ve always believed in “if you wan’t something you’ve never had, you need to do something you’ve never done”.

People see results from the keto diet all the time.

People also see results from eating a balanced meal of protein, veggies and healthy fats all the time.

It’s up to you to decide whether the keto diet is worth a shot.

Keep in mind that your fitness goals may not be the same as that person you’re following on instagram. Also remember that our bodies and lifestyles are all different, so what works for your favourite fitness influencer may not necessarily work for you.

Like my wife Kim always says in this Malaysian saying “Belum cuba, belum tahu. Sekali cuba, hari-hari mahu 😅”.

Who knows, you may just like it and it could change your life. Or, you may just completely hate it and never do it again, but at least you would have tried the keto diet.

CONCLUSION

I believe that every diet works – as long as you can stick to it, sustain it, and enjoy it. Be consistent with your healthy habits and you will see results.

And remember, no fitness and fatloss routine is ever complete without any exercise/fitness component. So be sure to include a minimum of 45-mins of an exercise program that challenges your body – gets you sweating, raises your heart rate, and works all the muscles of your body.

So, is the keto diet just a trend or is it here to stay?
