My Top 3 Biceps Exercises

by dailymuscle on June 30, 2010

A guest post by Lai Wee Kiat of Fabodylous.

Biceps are probably the most noticeable and attention-grabbing muscle group of all in today’s society. When someone says, “Show me your muscles!”, immediately the thought of flexing one’s arm will come to mind.

When that happens, will you be ready to show a highly-peaked, well-rounded and voluminous bicep? If not, it’s time to get yourself armed (pun intended). Below are my top three biceps exercises that you should add to your routine so you can be proud to flex those guns whenever the situation calls for it. [click to continue...]

The Secret To A Productive Workout

by dailymuscle on June 3, 2010

In response to Tuesday’s Blog Post “Having an Unproductive Workout?“, I’ve decided that due to popular request, it is only appropriate that today, I give you my Number #1 secret to having a productive workout.

I’m here to tell you that you CAN see great results with efficient 1 hour workouts or even less - whether it’s weight loss or to build a physique like a greek god. Anyone who tells you otherwise probably doesn’t have a clue on what he or she is doing. Take for example the personal trainer at your gym who only spends 1 hour with his/her clients, but when they do their own workouts - it sometimes goes up to 2 hours each. Are you being cheated? Well no - it’s just that they probably have no clue on what they’re doing themselves. But - we’ll save that story for another day before this post becomes a long-winded rant. So I’ve just got ONE secret to share with you - and actually, it’s not much of a secret at all.

Are you ready? … [click to continue...]

Having An Unproductive Workout?

by dailymuscle on June 1, 2010

Yes you read the title correctly - and how you do that is easy - you just waste lots of time.

I was at the gym yesterday for my workout - and I noticed that most people tend to waste a lot of time when they are at the gym to work out. It’s like their workout session is the time of the day that they have chosen to be the most relaxed and do everything else - when really, shouldn’t it be the other way around?

Most guys go in to the gym to burn some fat and build some muscle. The problem is… the workouts they do don’t help - and 3 months later… they go around saying that the gym ‘isn’t for them’.

One thing that blew me away yesterday was that I completed my entire workout and this guy I observed was STILL on the phone throughout the entire time - and he was just gettting started as I was getting ready to leave, cos I was already done! [click to continue...]

The Advanced Muscle & Strength Development Course

The course would help you:
* Learn how to maximize muscle & strength gains
* Correctly train & spot your clients on resistance training
* Learn the best exercises & techniques for a specific muscle group
* Learn how to manipulate protein & carbohydrate intake for accelerated muscle gains
* Learn how to design & implement your very own periodization programmes for different fitness levels

Course Facilitator: Jerrican Tan, CSCS
Course Fees: RM 720
Date: 22nd May 2010 (8am to 6pm) & 23rd May 2010 (8am to 12pm)

Who is this course for?

This course would appeal to both fitness professionals (Personal Trainers, Fitness Instructors, Sports Coaches, Lecturers/Academic staff teaching a related subject) AND to the reasonably experienced exerciser. To ACE-certified professionals, this course carries 0.9 CEC points which can be applied towards your renewal. So if you’ve been working out for a couple of years and consider yourself pretty experienced and want to go to the ‘next level’ - this is for you.

Who it isn’t for…

The recreational exerciser, someone new to exercise or just starting out on an exercise program
Unfortunately, it is not for beginners as you may find the course to be overwhelming.

The Good news!

I’m not selling this course for a discount, but I’m actually sponsoring 2 seats for 2 lucky blog readers. Yes, you get to go for it absolutely fully paid for. This is a pretty ‘informal’ contest, so all you need to do is:

4 Steps to win a FREE Seat

1. In 200 to 250 words - write a short blog post on your blog with the title “How DailyMuscle.com has Impacted my Life”. Include some type of photo/image to go along with your post if possible.

2. The content of that blog post needs to contain a link to my blog - http://www.dailymuscle.com.

3. Those who don’t have a blog can also post it on their facebook ‘Notes’ - and also email their entry to me – and I will post your entry on my blog.

4. Email your blog post link/entry to author@dailymuscle.com with the Subject “dailymuscle.com Giveaway”.

Simple as that! TWO winners will be chosen on Monday (based on the most inspiring/moving story), 10th May 2010 - so you have the weekend to work on this!

Tell your friends, fellow personal trainers and gym buddies about this! An offer like this doesn’t come often. I’ll be looking forward to your entries!

To better bodies - and an awesome weekend,

DailyMuscle

P.S. - Soon, I’ll also be giving away 3 full registrations to the upcoming Asia Fitness Convention 2010 in Bangkok (worth US$399 EACH) - Subscribe to my Free Newsletter if you wish to be notified about the giveaway.

New Free Advanced Bodyweight Program - The TT Gauntlet Program

by dailymuscle on April 23, 2010

It has been awhile since I’ve given out a freebie hasn’t it?

If you’ve been following my blog for awhile now, you would have realised that I’m a pretty big fan of Turbulence Training, developed by Craig Ballantyne, Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS), MS. Turbulence Training (TT) is an incredibly effective workout program that will kick-start your fat loss and help you build muscle fast. And if you’ve tried any of his workout programs before - you would be nodding your head now in agreement.

I use variations of Craig’s TT in my own workouts - and also with my clients. They never fail to challenge the individual.

Although there are hundreds, if not, thousands of workout programs out there for sale - TT will always be my favourite simply because of the results I’ve seen it bring on my own physique and on my clients. Moreover, thousands of Personal Trainers worldwide who have used TT with their clients cannot be wrong - it works. [click to continue...]
