Welcome again - listeners from BFM89.9!

by dailymuscle on June 8, 2010

Welcome listeners of BFM89.9 who may have found themselves here having listened to my radio interview with Shazmin over the segment “The Bigger Picture”, where I talked on some simple, and practical ways to get started with exercise for men and women of all ages.

This isn’t my first time on the air with the good folks at BFM89.9 (this is my fourth actually), but if this is YOUR first time to DailyMuscle.com then let me give you a quick tour of my blog.

Firstly, will find that I am referred to as DM (short for Daily Muscle, a nickname given to me by one of my readers many years ago when I first started blogging). I am a full time Lifestyle & Weight Management Consultant (ACE-LWMC), and Certified Personal Trainer (ACE-CPT) - both by the prestigious American Council on Exercise.

Early this year, I launched my very own ‘at-home’ Lifestyle-change program which I call the BodyRedemption System - it is a step-by-step guide that will take you through lifestyle changes one at a time, and over a period of 31-days, you can be assure of a significantly better YOU. Guaranteed to give you results or your money-back. It was a huge success and to date, I have sold over 200 copies of my tested and proven methods (and not a single refund)- more on that over here (there is $50 off if you buy today):

What’s Coming Up Next - the RM5,000 Body Transformation Camp

What’s coming up next in July is also my most ambitious fitness project yet - the DailyMuscle Body Transformation Camp (for Men, and for Women). If you’re here to find out how you can get a better body (once again, with a money-back guarantee), and with a whopping RM5,000 cash prize at stake, guaranteed results, then head over here for more details on that (hurry, as spaces are extremely limited and I expect it to sell out within the first few hours after the launch).
That’s over here:

If you’re curious on how Personal Training can help you, then take a look at my approach to Personal Training. I have many satisfied clients - many which I train in the comfort of their own homes.
I currently work with men and women throughout the country assisting them to take charge of their lifestyles and regain their health through better choices and exercise - something easier said then done. I am also available for obligation-free consultation for those seriously keen on taking charge of their lifestyles and making that first step to change - if that’s you, or if there’s anything else you’d like to discuss or ask, just drop me an email at author@dailymuscle.com.

Seminar: How To Run Your First Race (5th June, Damansara Perdana)

by dailymuscle on May 28, 2010

“Somewhere in the world someone is training when you are not.  When you race him, he will win.”
- Tom Fleming’s Boston Marathon training sign on his wall

A couple of weeks ago, popular blogger Stupe made a guest post on dailymuscle.com on “Running Your First 10km Race” - which got many people interested on how to get started with something we all thought was a no-brainer. Yes, from this post, many people have come to realise that preparing for a run is a little more than just getting a new pair of shoes and running till your legs fall off on that day.

To those of you who spend more time sitting on your butts all day at the office and think that a race is an impossible task - I want you to know that running and finishing a 5-kilometer (5K) race is actually a very realistic pursuit, even for novice runners. As Stupe says in the guest post, “What your mind sets to achieve, your body will follow.” Running a race is actually a mental thing.

And regardless whether you’re competing in a race or running long distance for your own satisfaction, 5km, 10km, 21km, or a full marathon:

How do you train?
What to best eat before a long run?
Do I need a medical exam?
Am I wearing the right type of shoes?
How do I avoid the ‘pain’ that comes the next day?

In other words… how does one start off right?

My advice to beginners:

Beginners should start with a simple program that would allow you to succeed and move forward when you are ready. To prevent burnout or injury, you shouldn’t be pushing your limits, but rather, focus on reaching the finish line. Doing it right will prevent you from getting hurt.

With this, I’d like to proudly announce that I’ve joined together with a local organiser to have who else, but the man who started this all himself - Stupe, to conduct a 90-minute seminar on “Running Your First Race“.

Time: 11a.m.
Date: 5th June (Saturday) - it’s a public holiday
Venue: Fitness Innovations Malaysia (FiT Malaysia), Damansara Perdana

More details on the seminar over here:
=> http://www.kualalumpur-fitness.com/how-to-run-your-first-race-seminar/

In this seminar, Stupe will share some tips and his secrets so that you ‘run on the right path’ to the finish line. Seminar aside, you will also get the chance to ask your very own questions at the open forum towards the end. I really think this seminar will benefit so many of you, that I have personally forked out some of my own funds to partially subsidize the registration cost - bringing it down from RM50 to a very affordable RM30 for each of you.

Who is this Seminar for?

If the upcoming KL Marathon has been bugging you cause you’ve signed up and you aren’t sure what to do - or if you’re thinking of signing up for any of the other upcoming runs - this seminar is for you.

For men and women of ALL ages, the seminar is also for:
- recreational exercisers new to running
- novice/amateur runners who are keen to improve their running
- those who wish to incorporate running as part of their exercise routine
- anyone who wants to learn how to run correctly and safely - whether it’s at a race, at the gym, or running after your kids at home.

Ok, I was kidding about the last one, but I’m sure you get what I’m trying to say.

There’s also an option to get an additional RM5 off the RM30 registration fee per person. More details when you sign up to indicate your interest on the events page over here:
=> http://www.kualalumpur-fitness.com/how-to-run-your-first-race-seminar/

See you guys there?

In health,
DailyMuscle
