Taking off from my Tuna Burger recipe yesterday - I’m starting to explore new territory… Shakes!! I whipped up a quick shake this morning for breakfast.

Here’s what I put in it:
- Half green apple (cubed)
- Half slice pineapple (cubed)
- 1.5 scoops of Optimum Nutrition Whey Protein (Vanilla)
- Handful of Almonds (about 8 pieces)
- 2 tablespoons of Carman’s Muesli
- 1 glass iced Green Tea
- 5 ice cubes
- 1 teaspoon Melrose Organic Wheatgrass powder
Blend in a blender for 30 seconds - and done!!
It actually tasted pretty awesome!
Unfortunately, I am unable to analyze and provide you with the nutritional breakdown cos I live in a home, not a laboratory, but I do know for sure that this shake is packed with high-quality protein, fiber, good fats, antioxidants and more - and will beat any so called ‘healthy shakes’ you can possibly buy from any juice kiosk here in Malaysia.
I’m still trying to find combinations that I prefer the most… so until then… hop on, and be prepared to go on a roller-coaster journey of TASTE with me! :)
P.S. - I don’t know what to call this shake! Anyone wanna help me name it? And honestly… I had no intention of making it match the theme colour of my blog… I swear!
Looking forward to your replies…

Today’s post is gonna be really different - I’d like to share a recipe for making Tuna Burgers I tried lately (unfortunately I didn’t take pics!).
If you’re sick of eating Tuna out of the can… then this recipe is just perfect for you. Turn plain tasting canned tuna into a mouth-watering hot meal by just adding a few ingredients.
Tuna Burgers
Preparation time: 10 minutes
Difficulty: Easy
Makes 2 servings
Ingredients:
- 3 cans of Tuna chunks in water, drained (I used the TC Boy Tuna in Spring Water)

- 2 Tablespoons Wheat Germ
- 1 Large Green oOnion/or Red Onion (minced finely)
- 2 omega-3 Eggs, beaten
- 1 Teaspoon Soy Sauce
- Dash of Garlic Powder (McCormick Spices has this - you can get them at any Supermarket)
- Salt & Pepper to taste
- 2 Teaspoon Olive Oil
Instructions:
- Combine all of the ingredients in a large mixing bowl - Use your hands and mix them well (wash your hands first alright?)
- Form into 2 or 3 large patties
- Use Cooking Spray on a non-stick grilling pan, and pan-fry the tuna burgers for approx 5 mins
- You’re done!!
The wheat germ and omega-3 eggs help to form a nice matrix for these burgers and add precious omega-3 fatty acids. This dish can be eaten be served with a salad, grilled vegetable, used in a sandwich - or just eaten plain.
What I like about this recipe is that the Tuna Burgers are really REALLY easy to prepare - looks really awesome in the end - and makes you feel like a chef. Try this.. and let me know how it goes! You will certainly impress your partner!
In my next few posts… I plan to highlight the various tools in the kitchen (like my awesome grilling pan I bought from Ikea, costs less than RM90), the various condiments I use, etc. Don’t forget to subscribe to my blog if you don’t wanna miss out!

What we eat accounts for more than 50% of our success in obtaining and maintaining an attractive physique. Besides cutting back on fats and simple carbohydrates, we need to load up on high quality protein if we wish to build strong, toned muscles. Besides getting protein from our food, most of us often supplement our diet with protein powders due to the convenience it offers, and sometimes - great taste! [click to continue...]

From the Wikipedia:
“Tuna are several species of ocean-dwelling fish. Unlike most ocean fish species, which have white flesh, the flesh of tuna is pink because the tuna’s blood has a higher oxygen carrying ability than other fish species”.
Interesting.
Before you proceed, be warned that this post is not for the weak of heart. ;)
